An outbreak of the highly contagious norovirus has caused the closure of a number of hospital beds across the country.
This illness can spread quickly through vulnerable patients and health workers so officials have warned those who may be suffering from the virus, which can cause vomiting and diarrhoea, to stay at home.
Particularly affected is the Northwick Park hospital in Harrow, which currently has more than 40 of its bed closed. One ward had been closed but it has now reopened after deep cleaning.
Several wards at Montagu Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary were closed to new admissions, while at the Richard Wells Ward in Bedford visiting was restricted to one guest per day for each patient.
There were 15 suspected outbreaks in the fortnight following the 28th November, according to statistics from the Health Protection Agency. The HPA had anticipated the outbreak as it is fairly common at this time of year. Of the 15 suspected cases 8 were confirmed, while 12 wards in total were closed.
All medical staff can do is let the illness run its course, as there is currently no specific treatment for the virus.

Hi,
Insurance is important for any business; there is no doubt about that. However, is it not the kind of coverage a business owner should rush through purchasing. http://www.autoninsurance.com/business-insurance/
